Welcome to Springfield Auto Sales, and thank you for considering us for all your dream car purchasing needs! We'd like to walk you through the steps involved so that buying from us is as easy as possible. We sell cars worldwide and update our inventory daily — always on the lookout for interesting cars to offer our clients.
Most of our cars are purchased sight unseen. That said, we do encourage buyers to visit our warehouse showroom to inspect a car in person, and third-party independent inspectors and brokers are always welcome.
We're a retail dealership with wholesale pricing. We specialize in European and American classics, helping dealers source inventory, connoisseurs find that rare gem, and first-time buyers find their dream car. The process of buying a car from us is simple, and detailed below.
Overseas Customers:
- View our inventory on our website and choose the car you're interested in. (All cars with listed prices are available; for those marked "Call for Price," please contact our sales staff. All of our cars carry U.S. titles and are ready for export.) Read the detailed description and view all photos and videos when available. Feel free to ask us any number of questions.
- When you decide to purchase a car, email us a confirmation along with the stock number, your full name, full address, and phone number, so we can prepare the proper invoice and official Wisconsin DMV documents, along with wire instructions for payment.
- We'll send you our Sales Agreement, Invoice (Bill of Sale), Statement of Facts, Buyer's Guide, and Power of Attorney — all of which need to be signed and returned to us right away by email or fax, along with wire confirmation of payment. (These forms are legally required for us to transfer the vehicle into your name on your behalf with the DMV.) For international purchases we accept payment via bank wire transfer; the invoice will include our banking details.
- Shipping arrangements? Let us know whether you're making your own shipping arrangements or would like our help. We assist many clients in securing competitive shipping rates.
- Once payment is made, received, and all signed documents are back in hand, we'll confirm by email or fax. If you're arranging your own shipping, you can instruct your shipping company directly. If we're arranging it on your behalf, we'll deliver the car to the shipping company with all necessary export documents, and provide you a shipping reference number and the shipper's contact details. We aim to keep the whole process efficient and streamlined.
- The car should arrive at most major ports within 4 to 8 weeks. Original documents such as the title will be sent to you directly by the shipping company once the car has sailed.
For Our U.S. Customers:
- View inventory on our website and choose the cars you're interested in. (All cars with listed prices are available; for "Call for Price" listings, please contact our sales staff. All of our cars carry U.S. titles.) Read the detailed description and view all photos and videos when available. Feel free to ask us any number of questions. You're also welcome to visit our warehouse showroom to see the car and/or arrange a test drive, when applicable.
- When you decide to buy a car, send us a confirmation along with the stock number, your full name, full address, and phone number, so we can prepare the invoice and official Wisconsin DMV documents along with wire instructions for payment.
- We'll send you our Sales Agreement, Invoice (Bill of Sale), Statement of Facts, Buyer's Guide, and Power of Attorney, all of which need to be signed and returned to us either in person, by fax, or by email. (These forms are legally required for us to transfer the vehicle into your name on your behalf with the DMV.) We accept payment from domestic buyers via certified bank check or bank wire transfer; the invoice will include our mailing address and/or banking details.
- Once payment is made, received, and all signed documents are in hand and funds have cleared, we'll confirm by email or fax and release the car for shipment. A complete set of documents, including the title, will be sent to you via FedEx.
Sales Tax:
All purchased vehicles are subject to Wisconsin state sales tax unless the shipper provides us with a Bill of Lading confirming the vehicle will be shipped out of state or internationally from our location or the shipper's. The Bill of Lading must include the destination address. In any case where a car is picked up and driven, or shipped from our warehouse without a qualifying Bill of Lading, state sales tax will be due at time of purchase regardless of where the car is ultimately headed. Sales tax and license fees apply if the vehicle is delivered within Wisconsin.
Pre-Purchase Inspections:
Buyers are welcome, and encouraged, to appoint a third-party inspector to examine any car they're considering. All inspections take place at our warehouse in Lake Geneva. Our staff will assist with whatever an inspector needs, including use of a car lift to inspect the undercarriage. We're happy to recommend inspection agencies, or you're welcome to use your own. To arrange an inspection, let our Sales Manager know whether you'd like a recommendation or plan to book your own inspector. To keep things running smoothly, always confirm the appointment time with our Sales Office in advance so we can have the vehicle ready.
